ABOUT BIG DREAMZ
The idea of wanting to get involved in the making of a documentary came to me first when close acquaintance Mr. Harold Farquharson contacted me via Facebook and told me that someone from the United States wanted to make a documentary on the origin and transition of Jamaican music. I was elated about the project so I said yes without hesitation even though I never created an actual documentary before.
Months after Harold’s guest arrived, he and I along with a few artistes from The Frazer’s Content Community were introduced, made face-to-face eye contacts, handshakes and were ready to go.
The shocking news came to us that the project will be called off days after I inputted a few ideas of what we think the documentary could be like. I have absolutely no knowledge why the whole thing was called off but I find them to be very unprofessional since they did not have either a script or a rough draft of anything prepared.
Harold and I decided to still make a documentary and not to let our artistes’ moods down. The title “Big Dreams” is originally a title track from Isebyrg’s song on the Foundation Music label produced by Harold Farquharson. It came to mind after we continued our dialogue on the issue.
Big Dreamz will be my first documentary; it features some of the Frazer’s Content upcoming artistes along with a few upcoming artistes from neighbouring communities. It is reality docu-drama that shows their daily lifestyle, activities in the community, musical talents and interest etc.
This film is being made to highlight hidden talents inside the garrison communities who need help. Over the years it is very clear that a lot of negative energy has emerged from and surrounding the place called ghetto. Globally most people brand ALL from the so-called Jamaican inner cities as, criminals, killers, uneducated and is said to believe that we are some of the most violent people on the face of the earth. Those theories are wrong! Not true! We all are not! I personally do not support, tolerate nor condone criminal elements so may justice be serve.
Big Dreamz is here to prove to the negative thinkers that positive and inspiring people exist in the ghetto, wanting support, a helping hand and willingness to make changes for us, our children’s children, for a better Jamaica, and to make a place where investors and tourists worldwide can come and feel comfortably safe.
